  Chloramphenicol, ELISA kit
  PN 5091C, Microtiter Plate (96T)
Chloramphenicol is a broad spectrum antibiotic which was widely used in veterinary medicine. Since 1994 the use of chloramphenicol is banned within the European Community. The Chloramphenicol EIA test is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for the screening of chloramphenicol in tissue, plasma, serum, urine, eggs, milk, honey and aqua culture products. Since the antibody used in this testsystem recognizes chloramphenicol-glucuronide, this substance can be analysed without prior hydrolysis. The dose-response curve shows a measuring range of 0.025-2 ng/ml. Diluted urine and defatted milk samples can be applied directly in the test with a detection limit of 0.1 ng/ml. In milk, a 10 times lower detection limit can be obtained by applying a simple extraction procedure. For all matrices extraction procedures are described in detection limits up to 0.01 ng/g.

  Clenbuterol, ELISA kit
  PN 5071C, Microtiter Plate (96T)
This test is based on clenbuterol antibodies and it is recommended for the detection of the following Beta-Agonists (% of cross-reactivity): clenbuterol (100%), bromobuterol (100%), mapenterol (80%), mabuterol (70%) and cimbuterol (60%). The dose-response curve shows a measuring range for clenbuterol of 0.1 - 5 ng/ml or 5-250 pg/well. Urine can be used directly in this test after pH adjustment or, to lower background, after an extraction. For faeces, cattle feed, tissue, plasma, bile and choroid/ retina samples, simple extraction methods are described in the manual. Detection limits, depending on the Beta-Agonist, sample material and clean-up procedure, down to 0.05 ng/g can be reached.

  Corticosteroids, ELISA kit
  PN 5081C, Microtiter Plate (96T)
Synthetic corticosteroids are widely used in livestock breeding to treat inflammatory diseases. MRLs for Dexamethasone in milk, tissue/kidney and liver are 0.3, 0.5 and 2.5 ng/kg respectively. Corticosteroids are found in cattle feed and are suspected to be used as growth-promoters. In all European Community countries however, the use of growth promoters has been banned since 1986. The generic Corticosteroid-EIA is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for the screening of feed, milk and urine on the presence of the following Corticosteroids (% of cross-reactivity): Flumethasone (125%), Dexamethasone (100%), Betamethasone (93%), Triamcinolone (33%) and Prednisolone (21). The dose-response curve shows a measuring range for Dexamethasone of 0.125-4 ng/ml or 6-200 pg/well. Milk can be used directly in this test with a sensitivity down to 0.15 ng/ml. For cattle feed samples, extraction methods are described in the manual and sensitivities down to 20 ng/g can be obtained. Urine samples can be applied after a dilution in buffer or after an HPLC fractionation. Tissue samples need an three phase extraction and clean up procedure.

  Diethylstilbestrol, ELISA kit
  PN 5081D, Microtiter Plate (96T)
Diethylstilbestrol (DES), together with dienestrol and hexestrol belongs to the group of stilbenes.   PN 5101SM, Microtiter Plate (96T)
The Sulfamethazine (Sulfadimidine) EIA is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for the screening of urine, tissue, plasma and milk samples on the presence of this antimicrobial. The dose-response curve shows a measuring range for sulfamethazine of 0.2 - 10 ng/ml. The antibody reacts with sulfamerazine (13% cross-reactivity) and shows high cross-reactivity (130%) towards the major metabolite N4-acetyl-sulfamethazine. The cross-reactivities of ten other sulfonamides (sulfadiazine, sulfadimethoxine, sulfadoxine, sulfaguanidine, sulfamethoxazole, sulfamethoxydiazine, sulfapyridine, sulfaquinoxaline, sulfathiazole and sulfatroxazole) are < 0.5%. Urine and plasma samples can be used to predict the level of sulfamethazine in tissues. In pig urine, acetylation is the major elimination pathway of sulfamethazine and about 75% is excreted as N4-acetyl-sulfamethazine. Due to the presence of the metabolite in urine and the sensitivity of the Sulfamethazine EIA, low concentrations in tissue can be screened for. Diluted urine, plasma and defatted milk samples can be analysed directly. For tissues, an extraction procedure is described.

This test is based on a mixture of antibodies raised against salbutamol and clenbuterol respectively. This "generic" test detects, due to the antibody mixture, more ß-agonists than the Clenbuterol-EIA. The test is recommended for the detection of the following ß-agonist (% cross-reactivity): salbutamol (100%), clenbuterol (100%), bromobuterol (100%), cimbuterol (75%), mapenterol (50%), mabuterol (60%), tulobuterol (50%), clenpenterol (50%), terbutaline (40%), carbuterol (40%), and cimaterol (10%). The dose-response curve shows a measuring range for salbutamol of 0.1-5 ng/ml or 5-250 pg/well. Urine can be used directly in this test after pH adjustment or to lower background after extraction. For faeces, cattle feed, tissue, plasma, bile, hair and choroid/retina samples, simple extraction methods are described in the users guide. The sample preparation procedures include an enzymatic hydrolysis to guarantee valid measurements of (glucorinated/sulphated) ß-agonists like salbutamol, terbutaline and carbuterol. Detection limits, depending on the ß-agonists, sample material and clean-up procedure, down to 0.05 ng/g can be reached.

  Zeralenone, ELISA kit
  PN 5121Z, Microtiter Plate (96T)
Zearalenone is an oestrogenic compound, also known as F-2 mycotoxin, which occurs in cereals and grains but also in banana's, bean leaves, etc. The antibody used in this test cross-reacts with Zeranol and its main metabolites. However, these anabolic compounds do not occur in grains, cereals, etc. The Zearalenone EIA can be used in combination with a fast and simple extraction procedure, or after a solid phase extraction method.

  Zeranol, ELISA kit
  PN 5081Z, Microtiter Plate (96T)
Zeranol is a xenobiotic anabolic agent, which is legally used in several countries. However, in the EC the anabolics are banned since 1986. Because of close structural resemblance the antibody cross-reacts with both Zeranol and and the mycotoxine Zearalenone and their main metabolites. In cattle (veal calves) the occurrence of zearalenone is rare if well defined feed is administered (milk replacers and soy proteins). The Zeranol EIA is recommended for the screening of urine samples on the presence of Zeranol (100%), Taleranol (133%), Zearalanone (100%), Alpha-Zearalenol (90%), Zearalenone (75%) and Beta-Zearalenol (70%). Stilbenes show a cross-reactivity of less than 0.01% (Diethylstilbestrol, Hexestrol and Dienestrol). 17Beta-Oestradiol, Progesterone and Testosterone cross-react < 0.01%. With this Zeranol EIA a sensitivity of up to 0.1 ng/ml urine can be obtained.
